Emmett's 3rd Birthday Construction Party

When we got back from Tulsa, I started putting together Emmett's birthday party!  Of course we had another huge snow storm that came in the day of his party!  Mike's mom and dad were planning on coming but their flight was canceled because of the weather.  We celebrated in mid-April so I was planning on it being nice outside.  I wanted to have everyone out on the deck for the party and all outdoor games for the kids.  Mike's parents bought Emmett a trampoline for his birthday so I thought it would be the perfect activity for the kiddos.  Change of plans with the snow storm!  It was seriously a blizzard, crazy!  All the neighbors walked over to our house in snow gear and I think everyone was excited to have something to do for the day.

We had a construction/all things transportation party.  The kids ended up having a blast despite the blizzard.  All of them pretty much had their own party going in the basement while the adults had a good time upstairs:)  Mike and I decorated with streamers, balloons, construction tape, and all of Emmett's trucks.  I was 2 weeks out from having Nora so Mike helped me out quite a bit with everything.  We had tacos that I made in the crock pot so it was an easy meal to serve up.  I made cake pops using dunking donuts and icing with sprinkles.  I ordered in a cookie cake from Mrs. Fields which was delicious.  The party was a success and we all had a really good time!  I keep saying I'm going to scale back every year and I end up throwing a theme party every year!  I love party planning though:)
