Big Boy!

Emmett just started holding his own cup today and drinking out of it.  He has held his little cup before but this is the first time he actually knew what to do with it:)  He is growing up so fast!  I love you little man!!!!  Emmett has started rolling from back to belly!  He initially did it a few weeks ago but picks and chooses when he wants to roll.  A bit strong willed;)

7 Months Old

Emmett turned 7 months on December 1st!!!

-Sitting up completely on his own.  Very rarely falls over.  I say it's because of his strong little core;)
-He is so close to crawling!  He flips forward from a sitting position to get on his hands and knees.  Sometimes he rocks and other times he just slides out onto his stomach.
-We have added in peas and peaches to his collection of new foods
-He still loves his bouncer and playing on the blanket with all of his toys.
-His first two bottom middle teeth are in!
-Emmett is pretty much sleeping through the night finally!!!  Yay, I'm getting some sleep too;)

Bushmeyer Thanksgiving

We then left straight from Cornell, Il with the Prindiville's and drove to Rockford to spend time with the Bushmeyer's.  Talk about a whirlwind weekend!!!  Emmett is the best lil sport ever:) We were so busy for about 4 days straight.  It was so much fun though.  It was great to see almost all of the Bushmeyer's too.  We enjoyed a delicious meal at Francesco's for our Bushmeyer Thanksgiving. Emmett loved being with everyone and we were so appreciative of the fun festivities Aunt B planned for all of us!  We will miss seeing everyone at Christmas

Prindiville Thanksgiving

We got to see all of the Prindiville's while we were home.  It was so nice to catch up with everyone and enjoy some delicious food at Aunt Linda's house!  Emmett especially loved his cousin Jack.  Poor Jack was being mauled by Emmett!  He was such a good sport. We even had time for a park visit while Daddy and Emmett took a nap.  It was pretty chilly but nice to get some fresh air after eating.

Thanksgiving Day

We did a very non-traditional Thanksgiving Day celebration with just Grandma Prindiville.  Mom made Lasagna and we were very low key.  It was nice to catch up on some rest after traveling and having one on one time with Grandma.  We had so much fun!  Dad and Mike enjoyed watching football all day long too;)

Road Trip to Illinois

We drove back to Illinois for Thanksgiving.  It was so much fun and crazy!  We celebrated 3 times while we were home:)  It was a lot of eating and visiting!  Good times!  Emmett and Barley did great on the car rides.  Emmett slept most of the time as did Barley. We broke the trip up by staying in Omaha on the way there and Lincoln on the way back.  Emmett's first two bottom teeth came in while we were back in Illinois.  He was a bit crabby but not as bad as I thought it would be when those first two teeth came in.  We just relaxed on Tuesday night when we got there.  It was nice to just catch up on some sleep Wednesday before the celebrations began.

6 Months Old

Emmett turned 6 months old on November 1st.  This Fall has been so busy and I can't believe the holidays are upon us.  Our little guy is growing up so fast!  We are really looking forward to traveling with him to visit all the family over the holidays.  We will be traveling back to Illinois for Thanksgiving to spend time with both the Prindiville and Bushmeyer relatives.  My immediate family will be spending time together skiing in Keystone before Christmas and then we will drive to Tulsa to spend Christmas with Mike's whole family.  It's going to be crazy and fun!!!!  I decided to get Emmett's pics done before we started all the traveling.  He has been a busy body and learning all sorts of new things.  We have been working on sleep training with the help of my sister in law Ashley.  It has been a process but I think we are getting there!  Emmett and I have lots of time together while Mike is on the road. It is really hard work doing it all alone for a week but I just love being with my little guy. Somedays are beyond exhausting but one big smile from Emmett makes everything better:)

-Emmett has started sitting up all on his own this month.  He loves playing on his blankets with all of his toys.
-He loves being tickled and bounced on my knee.  He just starts cracking up laughing, I try to send as many videos to Mike as possible so he can watch him laughing.  It is so funny!
-Emmett is eating 3 times a day.  Sometimes I add in Rice Cereal and other times he just eats the food.  He has tried green beans, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, squash, and bananas.
-We Skype and FaceTime so much with Mike and my parents, I'm afraid Emmett is going to think these people just exist on computers and phones!  Ha!  He loves showing off for my parents and giving huge smiles to Mike.
-We got a jumperoo for Emmett and he loves jumping in it.  I keep thinking he is going to jump right out of it.
-This is an especially fun age that I am enjoying with Emmett.  It's great to see him learning and interacting.   I feel that I am actually starting to enjoy every moment with Emmett versus just rushing from feedings to sleep to activities etc.  I can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring

Halloween!!!!

This was Mike's first year he has been here for Halloween!  It was so nice to have him here especially since it was Emmett's first Halloween! We dressed Emmett up as a Beanie Baby. I'm glad I had something warm to put him in because it turned out to be pretty chilly outside. We started out the day with a trip to Boulder for the Munchkin Masquerade.  It was so much fun!!!  We met my friend MaryJane and her kids there. The shops on Pearl Street have candy outside for kids to go door to door. Apparently this used to be a pretty wild party we found out from my neighbor Kirk that they had to tame down and make into a kid event.  Oh Boulder!:)  It was so neat to see tons of kids dressed up and even a lot of adults.  Everybody goes all out! We went to Centro for a midday margarita to get us thru the night!!!! We then came back to hand out candy in our neighborhood and finished up the night at our friend Kirk and Sherry's.  They had bets going on what Emmett would be dressed up this year.  They both lost because they thought he would be a soccer ball or pumpkin.  Obviously they think he is a butterball;)

The Beanie Baby Costume.  So incredibly easy and perfect for his first year!  My friend sent me this bear onesie awhile ago to keep him warm in Colorado.

Oma's Fall Visit

My Mom came out the week before Halloween.  It was so nice having her come out for a nice long visit!  We didn't do a whole lot but the week always seems to fly by.  Mom of course helped clean up around my house which is amazing since I never seem to be able to get the cleaning done around here!  Ha!  It was nice to go find some Fall decorations and get the house ready for Halloween!  We went to see Joe in Denver and of course she got lots of Emmett time in;)

Going to Pick Out Pumpkins

We went to a local pumpkin patch just outside Boulder to pick out our pumpkins and enjoy a crisp Fall day.  We had an inch of snow on the ground when we woke up this morning but everything was melted by noon.  I think I'm going to paint these pumpkins this year instead of trying to carve them.  Less mess I hope;)
