The Franks: January 2014

8 months old

Emmett turned 8 months old on New Year's Day. I can't believe how fast this past year went! Our little guy is growing and changing so much each day and month. He started full on crawling a few days after Christmas. It has been non-stop ever since. He has it coordinated pretty well and is on the move all the time.

-we have started eating stage 2 foods and loves Ella smoothies for babies
-crawling has been the big milestone this month
-loves his new stand up activity table
-Emmett is really starting to make sounds and trying to talk with us
-loves his jumper and got a new one for Christmas
-our phones and remote controls are probably his favorite toys

We took some family photos for Christmas when Emmett got his 6 month ones done. I love getting photos! Best way to document life;) I think Mike is starting to go along with me on this even though it's not his idea of a fun time. Ha!

New Year's

We went to Mike's cousin Chris's house for New Years. It was a blast. There were a ton of kiddos and there was even a bounce house! The kids had a blast and our cousin Lee even went all out and got party goodies to bring in the New Year. Emmett once again was worn out after all the playing and partying!

Family Time

Emmett loves being with his cousins! All the kiddos are so good with him and wear him out!!! I think he is so bored when it's just me and Mike;) I love that Emmett has a cousin his age on my side of the family and a ton of cousins on Mike's side of the family to grow up with. He is one lucky kiddo to have so many cousins and a family that loves and adores him.

Franks' Christmas

After celebrating in Colorado and then driving to Tulsa for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we took one day off before doing our immediate family Christmas. We stayed in and cooked dinner before opening presents. We were able to FaceTime with Matt and Ashley for most of it too. Not quite the same as having them there but at least we could all see each other! The kids had fun opening gifts and playing with Emmett. Emmett missed all the gift opening because he was exhausted. It was a a wonderful Christmas! We feel so blessed this year and beyond grateful to always have a reason for the season to celebrate with our family.

Christmas in Tulsa

We drove straight from Keystone back home to unpack, repack, and then hit the road for Tulsa. Woo, what a whirlwind!!! Emmett was the best traveler and did great with all the transporting from place to place. We are so lucky! We arrived in Tulsa Christmas Eve right before the big family dinner. It was so much fun seeing everyone. Christmas Day we went to Grandma Jones' house to see the entire family. The immediate Franks' family Christmas was two days later then. We went pretty much non-stop over the holidays. Unfortunately Mike's brother Matt and his wife Ashley weren't able to be there with their family this year. Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks before Christmas and was starting her treatment. We sure missed them and it definitely wasn't the same without them there but we know she is in God's hands and will come through this healthy and strong! Please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers this year.

Christmas in the Rockies 2013

Mom and Dad rented a house at the base of Keystone Mountain this year! It has become a tradition to do every other year. It was so much fun! Kate, Paul, Alex, Mom, and Dad all flew in town a week before Christmas. Mike got back in town that same night and Joe drove up too. We all went skiing while Mom and Dad did baby duty:) The house was absolutely amazing and it had so much room for all of us. I think the first thing Kate, Paul, and I said to each other was that the house was unreal!!!! We are looking forward to taking the boys out on the slopes with us one day!
