Rice Cereal

We tried out Rice Cereal for the first time at about 4 1/2 months.  This little guy can't seem to get enough milk so we've started filling him up with rice cereal at night so he will sleep through until morning.  He wasn't sure at first but he is doing much better now with figuring out how to eat it;)
He has no idea what's coming!!!!

First few bites here

He seems to like the spoon better with no cereal on it!

Steamboat Springs

Mike's friends John and Stephanie came to visit!  We took them to Steamboat Springs for a quick trip.  We just love Strawberry Park there.  We decided to rent cabins instead of camping.  Camping trips might be on hold for awhile until Emmett gets a little older.  Unfortunately when we went there, it was the start of all our massive downpours of rain!  Stephanie's first visit to Colorado and she barely saw the mountains!  We never have that much rain and the flooding was just terrible.  We did have a few hours one morning of some nice weather though so we could enjoy the hot springs!
All bundled up in the mountains

We had to stay inside quite a bit with the cold rainy weather

Tulsa Visit

Emmett got to meet all his family in Tulsa, OK!  He loved meeting everyone and playing with all the kiddos.  We were able to take him to the lake for the first time too and it was such a good time!!!  We drove down!  Emmett did such a good job on an 11 hour road trip.  He is such a good baby!  We just love him:)

4 Months Old

I can't believe how fast these past four months have gone!  Of course some nights after little sleep, it feels like it has been a very long 4 months;)  Our little guy has brought us so much joy and we are trying not to slow down with him.  This summer has been so busy and this fall looks to be shaping up the same way!  Emmett had his four month check up the other day and he is doing just great!

-15lbs 14oz
-24.5 inches long
-We just introduced him to rice cereal the other night and are hoping he will be sleeping more
-Loves smiling and is starting to laugh some
-Quite the little talker when he chooses to engage;)
-Loves his playmat and swing still, introduced to a bumbo seat with toys
-Loves his bath time and is really learning to kick those legs
-I think he is starting to imitate my Midwest accent by talking really loud every time I talk.... hmmmm
-Emmett is quite the little mover and shaker.  He does not like sitting still for too long and gets bored unless we are constantly on the move!

Lifestyle Shoot

Emmett had a lifestyle shoot done around 3 weeks old.  We couldn't do a newborn shoot because he had a little eye infection that we had to wait to clear up.  It was nice to have a family session:)  Even Barley got in there!

Meeting Family in Illinois and Wisconsin

I took Emmett on his first flight back to Illinois and Wisconsin to meet all of my family.  I can't believe I did his first flight all by myself.  He was a great lil' flyer and everyone on the plane was so nice!!!  Our first day home, I took Emmett to meet my Grandma and then we drove up to Wisconsin Dells to meet Kate, Paul, Alex, and all of the Bushmeyer side.  Mom and Dad found a great resort (recommended by Aunt B) with an indoor and outdoor water park.  Kate, Paul, and I got to spend time in the big outdoor hot tub and margarita bar!  All of the Bushmeyers met us at our resort and we all had a great dinner together.  We then drove back to Illinois to meet all of the Prindiville's.  It was such a fun week being home and seeing everyone!  Emmett is the best little traveler and he loved seeing everyone.  Mike had to work so he didn't get to come home with us but we sure loved seeing him when we got back to Denver!

He was a champ on the plane!  Mike would have been so proud:)
